Which crash-protection redesign should be approved?
Starting scenario
A 1200 kg car travels at 20 m s⁻¹. Design A stops the passenger in 0.08 s; Design B in 0.15 s. B adds 25 kg and increases normal braking distance by 1.5 m. Wet-road braking tests have large variation, and one sensor was not calibrated.
